In 2018/19 our sports premium allocation is £16 740.
Follow the link below to read a report on how the premium will be used to provide excellent PE and sports opportunities for all children in school.
Our Sports Premium government funded Grant for the financial year 2017/18 was £13 198. The Sports Premium continued to be used to employ a specialist Sports coach for one afternoon a week. All pupils benefitted from specialised PE coaching whilst teachers and teaching assistants gained valuable CPD by team-teaching and observing PE Lessons. Sporting Start who provide our sports coach also ran an after-school sports club each week in school. The funding also covered the cost of a specialist dance coach for the spring term who assisted with choreography for spring and summer productions.
Membership of a Cluster Sports Partnership is funded through the premium; this provides excellent opportunities for competitive sport and we are delighted that so many of our children have, as a result of these opportunities, qualified for the Hambleton Area finals during the year. There are extra opportunities through the Sports Partnership for children who are identified as having particular strengths in PE.
In September 2017, we were delighted to be awarded the Gold School Games Mark, recognising our children's participation in sport.
Part of our allocation is used to train three children each year to be young Sports Leaders. This is an excellent opportunity for pupils to develop their leadership skills and other children in school have benefitted from the excellent lunchtime sports clubs our leaders have held.
We were delighted to be awarded the School Games Mark Gold Award in September 2016, recognising our participation in competitive sport in 2015/16. Our progress from Bronze to Gold in only one year is evidence of the impact of the effective use of the additional funding which is available through the Sports Premium.
